New here.
Been on a quest to find a good Z Car forum. Tried 300zxclub but its a bit of a rough scene over there. I ran across a link for this site while there so I figured I would lurk around a bit before saying hey. Looks like a nice place to stay.
About me,
22 living in Dallas currently attending Universal Technical Institute.
My car,
1986 Nissan 300ZX N/a hardtop with an auto trans. I am currently working on getting it back to good shape before I get it prepped for track running. Once all of the mechanical stuff is taken care of, I am getting the body fixed and it will be repainted to replicate the paint scheme of Paul Newman's old race car. Seats are going to get replaced with racing buckets. A roll bar will be installed and along with that, I will be running a 4 point harness.

It is turning into one heck of a project. So far all of my progress on the car has been mainly mechanical stuff. All of the engine ignition system has been replaced. New rear wiper. New brake calipers and rotors. The old window tint was taken off so I can actually see out the windows now. Headlights have been replaced.

Thanks. A lot of potential+ambitious owner=a good outcome.
I just hope when I am done I don't get the P.O.S. comments from my family. Aside from car enthusiasts, the only person to like my car has been my girlfriend. She says I can keep it.

As for your family. If I listened to mine the many millions of times. They called my cars junk. I would be driving new boring cars. lol Don't let it get to you. It will be well worth it in the end. Besides, if your girlfriend says you can keep it. You are in good shape!
