so as I go to pick up my daughter from her mom's house, I get out of my car and these two young kids (14/15yr old skaters) stop and say "Nice Porshe" to me... well, I was in a hurry and walking away so instead of educating the next generation on how cool old Datsun Z-cars are, I just said "thanks" and ran off.
So ya... that's only the 2nd time my car as been called a Porsche in the 10 years I've had it. Its also been called a Corvette before.

I do run with no emblems though... except for the Z emblem on the hood which was stolen...

I was also dressed for work. Khakis and collared shirt... like a true Porshe owner! I just needed my 80's sunglasses and I'd be set. (they were in the center console)

 

You know I got that too, my car being called a Porsche. I thought I was the only one.

 

my 240z used to ALWAYS be mistaken for an older ferrari. It's debadged too.

 

i get that all the time too, everyone's like hay what years that porche, like at least 6 times since i've owned it. Damn the hicks that think they no cars, i had to school on that thought it was a vette' also, thats were they crossed the line...call it a porche all you want just don't diminish the value of my car by calling it a chevy...oh and debadged also.

 

vettes are an exception to GM.

 

One time I fed my snake some beer... it was slithering this way and that... it was all (messed) up.

 

I had guy at a national chain garage (when I first got the car) ask me if the "RX-7" was mine. Pissed me off a bit. Did have a guy at a Circle K once ask what year Corvette it was. Morons!!

 

Oh the Nissan made Vettes/Porsches/RX7's...at least they are not calling it a Prelude!!!

Sweeet!! Actually not that surprising.....I read somewhere that the Ferrari 250GTO was one of the cars that influenced the styling of the 240Z (along with Toyota 2000GT and Jaguar E type).

BTW, my 350Z has been mistaken for a Porsche a couple times....

the 350 and the boxster and the audi and the bmw and the and the and the all look the same. it is very difficult to differentiate betyween the various bubblebutt cars at first glance while doing outrageously fast speeds on the freeway............. have mercy............. geez.............. loooooweeeeeze........................

yeah not for me, uncept for the brand new one's, there nice has to be a zo7 or some shnit, my rival up here is an 86' vette. I'm gonna smoke that sob. Soon, if i get traction and a boost controller. and the new eclipse also, very 350 similar.

 

Cool...sounds good....as soon as I'm thru w/ Christmas shopping, gonna start buying more parts for the 240 starting with exhaust and then paint...I'll be ready to cruise with ya in the Spring...
