In stock form, the 240Z through 280ZX (non-turbo) ranged in hp from 135 to 150 or so. I believe the turbo 280ZX was rated around 180-190 hp.

have you ever seen or herd of the tough as nails cast iron L series block blowing up, cracking, breaking a piston or bending a rod, in my whole 2 years i have barely even herd of one blowing a head gasket(but who would want any one to know about that?)

iv seen L's blow head gaskets. why alot of people when doing a major turbo build do metal gasket. yes its a cast iron block so cracking is kinda hard to do BUT it can be done. rods are pretty stout but can be upgraded. you can get forged pistons for any application (great upgrade) these engines can go +200,000 miles b4 a rebuild. they are beefy but a constant thrashing on one will shorten lifespan.

but he DID search. he never found the DEFINITIVE answer. unfortunately, the L series HP registry (HP registration is required by law) is not kept online. someone on here should have access to the most recent list.

I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say it's sitting in a car, in the owner's garage.

It was complete, running condition, and painted.
