Cool The Green Thing is back!!

It's been two years since I let my sister "borrow" my green PC tower but it is finally home where it belongs. I have already noticed the computer running cooler but slower at the same time. I think it might be the extra load what with the light and 4 extra 80mm fans that I didn't have in the other case. 300 watts doesn't go as far as it use to. Time for that PC & Power Cooling "Turbo Cool 850" power supply, now that I have the room for it in this deep *** case.

Yes I know, my room is a mess....but smart people are messy....so I have no excuse as to why my room is so messy. I am still waiting for my sister to mail me the key for the front of the case and my extra drive bay covers. She did bring me my matching keyboard and optical mouse but they are a mess. You all should have seen the dust that was inside of this thing when she brought it to me, every fan was covered and all the wires were covered. It took two 12 ounce cans of compressed air and allot of Q tips...I still have to bust out the Windex to finish the detailing though. Well here it is.

Well it says P2 350mhz with 64megs of ram, 7.5 gig hard drive, windows 3.1.....

I am actually running a P4 Celeron D 1.8Ghz at 2.07 with 512 ram and will be going to a Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz 1066mhz front side and 4Gig of ram on an Asus MB. 1.25TB of hard drive space over 4 drives, a PNY XLR8 GeForce 8800 GTX.

I just like the case allot and when I first got it I had plans for a mean computer build but that was like 3 years ago...as you know there are better PC components out now. The main thing is I can pretty much put any power supply in this case because of the depth of it and the power supply I want is over 9 inches long. Also, cooling...there are 4 80mm fans in it with room for 2 more, which I will be adding. None of the case fans will be really helping to cool the E6600 they are for the hard drives and video card...the Tt Symphony will be cooling the E6600 which will be running at about 3.6-3.8+Ghz. It's gonna sound like a wind tunnel in my room when it's done...but that's "cool" with me.

Yeah, back when I was in the business, my cases all sounded like jets taking off. The system I built two years ago was all black with the window and green lighting. Pretty sharp looking. Are you going with SATA drives??

Sounds like a killer setup!

SATA 3.0Gb/s all the way and SATA optical drives. I found a nice NEC DVD Burner that is SATA. It's gonna be a fun build.

Here's a "killer" system listed on Ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Intel-S300P...QQcmdZViewItem

Notice "Star Wars: Tie Fighter" next to it. That game was the sheet!! That system won't even run it... LOL

This was my first computer, starting back in '82-'83. And I still have it, and sometimes play it. The arcade classics on it, are killer graphics. Here you go.

Can't find a pic of my first, but it was a Packard Bell Legend 316. 386/16Mhz, with 4 megs memory and a 40MB MFM HD, double with a controller that made it 80MB. EGA graphics (WOOT!). I remember buying my first stick of memory. It was an 8MB stick of 16pin DIMM, and was $300.00 at Office max. I was rolling in memory then. HAHAHA!!! Best game I ever played on that system (actually 3 games) were "Wing Commander 1&2" and "UFO: Enemy Unknown". Still have the games, too...

I also remember buying my first replacement HD. It was a Western Digital 200MB drive (ATA), and cost me $200.00, used. Fast as lightning!! LOL

Parsec FTW!

Also really liked "Miner 2049er" and "Car Wars"

I still have my TI-99/4A complete with the Peripheral Expansion Unit and the RS232 card with all the goodies. I used to love firing up "Extended Basic" and programming the speach synthesizer to say crazy **** and then using it to make prank phone calls... That was the best.

Sad thing is, I still remember how to program in TI Basic.

I was only like 11 years old myself... I was just a nerd.

The reason you wrote your command lines starting with numbers spaced by ten was actually just a guideline. You could make them go 1,2,3, etc but if you ever needed to go in and add another line of code you were screwed.

10 Print "Commodore 64 sucks"
20 GOTO 10
RUN
