fresh snow
We finally got some decent winter weather around here. After going for a run in shorts and short sleeves in upper 60's on Thanksgiving, I was wondering if we'd ever get good snow down here (the ski areas are doing well). And it's cold (3 degree bike ride to work this morning), so it's a nice 10 inch layer of the powdery stuff, and not that slushy junk.

He is from LV, they never get snow....
Anyone here build a winter rally Z? That be badass! Ima go look for a cheap 280z right now and build into a moderate rally car made for heavy snow, all have the strob lights on the front of it!
DRive it at night though, since during snow storms or when the cload cover is heavy, its pretty bright outside, go out at like 1-3 am hit some long wide road hard. No ones ever out around here though, empty streets completely empty, only a few semi's here and there. Hell I was out at 2 am yesterday, not one car almost, no police either, since I was speeding around this big road a bit fast. Wasnt pushing the Z though.
Is a Z31 to heavy? I watched alot of rally seems most the cars are small? theres alot of Z31's way cheaper then a 280z lol.

If its just for fun then who cares how heavy it is... it'll be an open diff RWD car which is basically the worst snow or rally setup you can get. Buy a cheap Z31 and gut it. Then go crash it.
You really want LSD but more importantly FWD or AWD.

true dat...i stick with my previous statement and go get an old *** subaru imprezza rs. hmmm... this reminds me when my friends wanted to go get a cheap *** 510 and make it into a rally car...
my one budy though has a galant VR-4... that thing is soo much fun. he is getting so much done to it. it isnt hella fast yet. but for a 4 door family sedan and it runing low 14's maybe high 13's its pretty damn good.. AWD and we went sliding yesterday in the rain... WEEEEEE!!!!!

Z rally in the snow, been done (and very stylishly, too). See attached pic from the '73 Monte Carlo rally, from http://www.z-point.nl/ which has a bunch of great Z car rally photos.
Hell, after the restore work I've done I won't even be taking mine out if it's supposed to rain. But, the winter Z driving comments made me think that I'd swear I had seen a first gen Z in an earlier James Bond movie, driving around in the snow (On Her Majesty's Secret Service, maybe?). I went to look for it on Google, and couldn't find it (though I did find some nice photos of the one-off convertible Toyota 2000GT they used). Might have been a "bad guy" chase car. Didn't someone do a "Z cars in films" article awhile back? I didn't see it anywhere when I searched, either.
