Day of Scams and Fraud
Well interesting day I've had. I've had my 76' 280Z listed for sale on Craigslist, HybridZ, etc. After no interest or bites, all of a sudden I get an e-mail from someone interested and I get an e-mail the next day from someone else. A Mineh Ishikawa or something supposedly Sales Manager for http://www.eurousa.net there is no one by that name or even close to that name listed on the site. They asked if my price was firm, I said it wasn't but would like to get as much as possible. They respond with:
I’m going to tell you straight up, that I cannot afford $3500. In fact, I only have $1000 in hand.
If you look on Craigslist, there was a guy selling a 1976 280Z with only 42K miles for $2000. He agreed to sell to me for that, and I would give him $1000 today, and take two more payments spaced 2 weeks apart of $500.
Can we work something out?
I replied with: No, I'm good.
Marked it as spam, and left it at that.
Oh and someone got ahold of my American Express card number and put $313 worth of charges on it. Luckily American Express was very helpful about the whole thing.

i hear american express is really good about fradulant charges.
i wouldnt think that e-mail was spam but it was pretty lame if you ask me, if the other guy is going to do it then do it dont go trying to pressure some one else into it.
theres no way i would ever do payments from a person. i am not sure if i would be willing to accept payments from a bank.

I think the e-mail was a bit of a scam. Considering they were using a title, a company logo, and the address, but on that site there is a list of the people in Sales and that name/person is nowhere on there.
