A cool/rare S30 for youz guyz
Howdy y'all!
I was at the local Home Depot the other day when I spotted this little gem and decided to take a few pictures.
While I was snapping away, the owner came out and we started talking.
She bought in brand new in 1977, special ordered it as it sits. She said she wanted a convertible but the dealership informed her there was no such animal. Instead, they offered to have the car outfitted with a soft, retractable center section of the roof.
Very cool and as far as I know, one of a kind.
Enjoy.

that's awesome. thanks for posting it
but i have to say, they took that strait from the brits, whom i have to admit took it from the germans. i believe that some VW's had that close to first, then the brits used it a lot. GT-6's and TVR's both used it in many of their cars. others too. can't remember them all!

maserati can blow me, aston martin on the other hand.... very nice. GTR if they beefed the tranny to allow for the launches, or stuck in a stand tranny it would be worth it, but otherwise (i can't believe im saying this) i would take a ZR1 over it *shutter*

And yes, it is the Home Depot next to Auto Park Drive.

It's not a drag racer. If you drive it like one, you'll break it. And... You'll be an idiot.
Anyone remember how this SAME issue was the single biggest knock against the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4?
Nevermind all of it's brilliance, just tear it apart because you can't "Launch" it like a drag car without breaking it.
I guess I'll trade mine in on a car that Snowy approves of.
Right after I kick my own ***.

man i wish my z had t-tops instead of that damn moon roof. Nice z, but it would look much better with the vinyl top fallowing the arch of the rear instead of being so damn strait IMHO there are two new nissans and one chevy which i have recently drove, the GTR and 370z and the zo6 if your looking for something which you can beet the hell out of put it away wet and take it out the next day and beat on it some more, beat the hell out of it at the track and still have a comfy daily, i would go zo6, the 370z has some cool styling and is a comfy, but it accelerates like a 350z and actually isnt that nimble, feels like an s130 to be honest with you. and the GTR is nice for all of the tech thats behind it and the AWD TT, but i fthe tranny's are hand grenading after only a few launches imagine what else is gonna go boom if you beat on it too hard, plus to do what nissan was ranting and raving that the car could do, you have to void the warranty, its like owning an audi, its all fun until maintenance creeps up and **** starts breaking, plus whats the fun in paying $30k more for a GTR when a zo6 can be had new for like $63k and wont break on you?
these are just opinions, not bashing on your dreams or goals, but the bigger picture is always more important.
