Ok i hope this is in the right forum my buddy has a 2004ish(not 100% on the year) Ford Focus and he has been having problem starting it up in the cold. I was with him today to see it for myself so ill try to describe it as best as i can. When he goes to start it up the motor turns up starts idles to about 1200 and then dies. It will do this for about 3 or 4 times before it will finally start up and idle normally.

 

How many miles does the car have? Has it had a recent tune up? Checked the MAF? Checked the IAC Valve?

well theres your problem right there.... its a FORD!!!!!!

and btw could a stuck pcv valve be the culprit?
