i think thats what he means. they aight. they work to an extent, minor little blemishes dissappear scretches get better, gauges or built up grime, PERMENENT. if you buy one just get the 20 dollar manually cranked one they all do the same quality of work, so why spend more. however if your not talking about the scratch removers, forget everything i said cuase i dont know what you are talking about.

There used to be one years ago called the "CD Doctor" I think, and it worked pretty well. Cost around $30 - $35 then. Battery operated...

i have one of the hand crank ones, works pretty good. but the only place my CD's got scratched were in my car, and now the iPod takes care of driving tunes for me. speaking of which, i need an iPod buffer, those things scratch like a ****, even in a hard acryllic case.

I know video game stores like game crazy if you have it, will generally buff discs for you. It might cost $1-$2, but it's not too bad if you only need to buff a CD or two as opposed to paying $20 or so for a disc doctor or something of the sort.

I used one of those things and it scratched my cd even further. How do you use them correctly?

it is an abbrasive, therefore it is SUPPOSED to put scratches in. just smaller scratches than the one you are trying to remove. keep it wet, crank the crank, there isnt really much to it. the disc will end up with a sort of swirl pattern on it.

ohh yourr talking about a PS game, well then with that you could take it to GameCrazy stores. They usally have a machine that would take the scratches right without any swirl marks. Although it kinda gets expensive when they charge like 3 doallars a CD. Best thing to do is prevent getting your CD's scratched in the first place. I've seen this stick on cover things that you place on the data side of the Cd's. They prevent scratching and are cleanable. You can even play the Cd's with the cover on, so check them out...
I didnt know they could do that... Does gamestop do it also?

Well if it's only a game or two, just take them up to gamecrazy. It's worth the money if it's only a few discs. They do a pretty good job.
