only if you alter the VIN before you register it. It is a little illegal.

why the F would you actually WANT a 4 seater unless you were back in the 70's having kids and needed a sports car there fore you went with a 280Z 2+2 one of the ugliest datsuns made. any 2+2 is gross setp the Z32 and even then i can see the difference and just cant accept it. lol. and its not that hard to find anything rust free in the cali area, u guys got a pretty milds and dry climate, look in arizona also

Exactly. Make the car run right... then you don't have to worry about it passing.

280z = fuel injected
240z-260z = carb'd

I'm pretty sure they'll notice.

wait, this confuses me. isnt anything 30 years or older exempt? and a 76 280z would fall under that, and also, fooling them to thinking it was a 70-76 240 or 260 or 280???? it already IS A 76 280Z !!!!!!!!!

no, anything pre -75 is exempt from the test, but if you get busted on the side of the road they can still send you to the smog ref.

i know its alot of trouble, but why not just register it in a state with no smog laws? Isn't there a neighboring state that matches that desc? I mean, it would be a hell of alot easier to just make sure you're car is running right in the first place, but if you're not willing to do that, then the out of state registration is another, more paperwork intensive solution.

I love FL, no smog laws ftw.

A cop actually told me he wishes we did inspections here when he saw my Z on the side of the road (I blew my headgasket)
