The house is fine, some of my neighbors weren't so lucky. I am very sad for them.


The Z is also fine it's covered with ash... Yes, the ash blew into my CLOSED gargage from the force of the winds. There is a lot of wind damage and fallen trees. I'll post some pics of the area a little later.

So I met the guys last night when we got back to the area that actually somewhat saved my house and protected my street. They were all the way from San Francisco!!! Anyone familiar with California knows how far away that is... Amazingly they were here late Monday and have been here since.

I was sure to thank them.

Phew . . .the last thing we all wanted was for the Z to be Pompe status. SF by car is about 8 hours to San Diego. Bet those rigs took at least 12 to get down there

actually, i saw roddy amnd the neighbors up on their rooves cooking hot dogs over a roaring fire in the swimming pool, waving hhello to the governator and friends as they flew overhead.......today they waved to the bushbum........in his black and gold mosquitobird.............flew over me a few times........

 

Glad to hear you made it through the fire ok Rod, sorry to hear about the neighbors. I heard yesterday a group of city engines left Klamath Falls, Oregon to head down there to help with the fires. I keep hoping the government will finally call for some of the 400 private wildland fire engines and 200 water tenders to head that way to help. We've got nothing to do up here until next June or July anyways.

Actually, my neighbors all love my Z. When my friends in all of their Z Cars invade my neighborhood, they all get a kick out of the "Z Car Show" going on up and down the block.

My next door neighbor is a BMW guy, he has two... All of his friends drive them as well. So, sometimes it's the "BMW Show" on my street.

I'm just waiting for the day that all of my friends and all of his friends show up at the same time!!! Oh snaps!

good to hear all of the ppl so far are doing o.k. suck to be the ones whos houses burnt. some of our water bombers are down there helping out, and some of our summer troops are down there being hot spot patrols and such. seeming our burning period is over.

 

We actually got a little bit of RAIN yesterday down here. I'm not sure how much it helped with the fires still burning but I know the Fire Fighters I spoke to were very pleased to see the rain. What a crazy week it's been around here...
