Army

Hey guys, I thought I would let you know I enlisted yesterday.
I have put a lot of thought into this, and decided that the Army was right for me. I signed in for a $31,000 sign in bonus, as an 18-x (special forces candidate) ASVAB 83 DLAB 104 and being a swimmer and a cyclist I probably won't have a problem with the PT test. I ship out July 3rd, but the 1st is really my last day of freedom.

More info to come later!!

Are there any other enlisted-men, or even commissioned officers here?

I've been in the AF for 7.5 years now. Not sure if I'm gonna do the full 20. Best of luck!

I went to fort benning for boot camp ... 1st 2 weeks were insane hell but after that it got better then it actually got fun ... then went to fort sam for combat medic training 1st month they treat you like boot camp then the next 3 months you get alot of freedom ... most fun ... remember to just do what the drill sgt. asks and don't every say "yes sir" to a drill sgt. ... if you do, trust me you'll never say it again ... also any type of bathroom, john, toilet is a "latrine" ... don't say "I have to go the bathroom" ... sleep on top of your perfectly made bed, so all you have to do is smooth it out in the morning ... also try and keep one pair of boots perfectly shined up, it case of surprise inspections ... also kiwi instant spit shine is an awesome for quick boot shine ... try not to take anything with you because no matter what anybody tells you everything gets confiscated and locked up till after boot camp so you might as well not bring it ... and they make you pay for your buzzcut even if you go in bald you get a buzzcut ... those are just a few friendly pointers. good luck - Spc.
