You said you only had two cichlids right now correct? Being that they're african I would advise against getting a dempsey because they're from central america where the water has a low PH, and GH. If you already have africans I would stick to other africans but, another thing to keep in mind is that you have Mbunas so I would steer clear of buying any Haps or Peacocks in such a small tank. Oh but to answer your question yes you could easily get three more cichlids for that tank provided you have enough hiding places.

It's kind of confusing I know but, when it comes to cichlids you have to be careful which fish you mix with what. Generally speaking you have american cichlids, and african cichlids

Within american cichlids there are of course south, central, and north just about all of these can be kept together so long as their water parameters are the same.

Within the african cichlids are Mbuna, Haps, Peacocks. Mbuna are very territorial and in a tank of your size would end up killing any haps or peacocks that were kept with them. I apologize for the confusion, it's hard for me to explain all this within a reasonable amount of time online but, if you go to your petshop just specify that you want mbuna (muh-bu-nah)

That's because the 280zx section is nothing but reposts and lack of help when actually needed.

Hey guys, I have 3 fish tanks, a 55 gallon, a 10 gallon, and a 2 1/2 gallon. There is a black wood stand for the 55 gallon and an Black Iron stand for the 10 gallon tank. There is no lid or lights for the 55 gallon. There are also some other fish tank related items with them. I was going to sell all this for a good price and may still do so, something like $250 for EVERYTHING. What I would prefer to do is trade all this for a working 1980-1983 non BW 5 speed tranny. I would also consider trading for a good header and a few other parts. Feel free to PM me if anyone is interested.

this may or may not be a stupid question: are clown fish difficult to find? Every time we go to a pet store we look for a clown fish and there never are any. The only time we've been able to find one they wouldn't sell it to us because it was for display only. WTF??? My wife wants a clown fish and we've been looking for months (not really going out of our way or anything) and nobody seems to carry them.

j, there are crap loads of clown fish out there, my local fish store always has 5 or more, all for sale, i think there like 40-60 bucks or some thing and like 30 on sale. the only problem with the salt water tanks is the larger amount of maintenance required compared to a regular tropical tank. you can also buy fish off the internet, seems kinda weird, but they ship fish all over the world. i just bought a 55 gallon tank on the 10th, and am waiting for the water break in period, i like 1 week, that way it makes more bacteria before the fish go in. less chance of ick that way.

never thought about trying to buy em online. I'll give that a try. Is there a good survival rate with shipping fish? It's not to tramatic for them is it?

Makes me want to get a fish tank. Maybe some little model Zs to go in the bottom. I can make it a race track theme!! YEY!

I havent had fish since I was a kid. We had like normal fish (goldfish, and the little striped ones, no idea the namt) and I found a "baby" catfish in the pond by my house. So I caught it (like 1" long) and put it in the tnk. Grew up to eat all the other fish, lol. Oh well. I was 10.
