FS: 1973 Datsun 240Z - Chesapeake, VA

For sale is my '73 240Z. This Z is in excellent condition both mechanically and exterior/interior wise. Original 4-speed manual transmission. 113,088 original miles on stock motor, still runs strong. The car is about 85-90% restored. Perfect car for any Z/Classic car collector. There are very few in this condition, let alone on the East Coast. Previous owner installed new Kenwood CD player. Brand new 14x7 Konig Rewind rims just installed less then a month ago, not a scratch on them. It gives this Z more of the classic Japanese Fairlady Z style. Tires are excellent and have plenty of tread left, like new. New Datsun Z badges/emblems all around in the correct locations, urethane bushings, and more. Car has always been garage kept, and one of the reasons why this car has practically no rust. The Z has a Monza dual tip Exhaust. As you can see in the pictures, the undercarriage has been resprayed and is in excellent shape. Floor pans have no rust and have been upgraded for sound proof. There has been no major mechanical work done to it that I'm aware of. Original motor starts up and runs every time the key is turned. Runs strong and is an absolute blast to drive. This Z can easily reach 100+ mph with room for more. Drove this Z from PA, down to VA when I purchased it, and made it down without any problems. This car is a serious head-turner when driving on the roads and gets a ton of compliments from all.

I have the paperwork for the minor repair paperwork done on the car, going back to the first owner; however, everything with the restoration was done by a friend of the previous owner, who owned a body shop at the time. Car comes with repair/service manuals, service/restoration documentation dating back to 1975, and Z parts catalogs. Also included are spare and extra parts including a pair of 1972 carbs(which will Increase HP).

I am selling this Z because I had intentions to Autocross this car, but it’s too nice of a car to race and I don’t have the time to do the things I would like with it. Come out and see for it yourself, as the pictures of the Z don't do justice.

The Good:
- Very little, to no rust at all. There is a small dot of rust on gas cap cover and small dot of rust under the hood, but can be hardly noticed. Easy to fix compared to what most Z's have.
- Exterior and interior are in Excellent condition, with very few minor flaws.
- New Paint is in excellent shape. There are no spots missed. Underneath the hood, hatch, doors, and etc. have all been painted. The color of the car is Bahama Blue Metallic.
- 113,088 original miles on stock motor, still runs strong.
- Floor pans and frame rails are in great shape.
- Original 4-Speed Transmission shifts great.

The Bad:
- The air condition and glove box are not finished, but I do have the required parts to finish it. It just has to be wired for the A/C to work and the box put back in after that's complete.
- Could use some new weather stripping around the driver's side door, but not needed.
- Has a slow oil leak about the size of a quarter when constantly ran.

Asking price of $9,500 FIRM. Buyer is responsible for all taxes and transfer fees.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, I'll get back to you in full detail and as quickly as possible.

Sweet looking Z man. And props for keeping it close to original. It is my favorite color, and I love what you have done to it. Hope you get what you want for it. It really is pretty clean. Good luck.

Nice car, but clean up that engine/engine bay! Everything is almost perfect until you get to the motor.

Thanks! It never really crossed my mind to clean the engine bay, but that's something I will definitely do.

Wow man, it just looks more sweeter. Every time you post new pics. But yeah, if you clean up the engine, like hoov suggested. It will really pop, and shine better. Which will make it more enticing than it already is. Good luck once again man. It is a tight sweet looking Z.

Really clean nice sounding Z man! It is even better than the pictures. I really hope it goes to somebody that will keep it nice, and care for it. Good luck.

Oh, I would love my Z, to sound like that one. Is it possible with a cat still on it? Just throwing it out there. I am sure it would be possible.

Thanks again.

Yeah I like the sound of it, I think the exhaust gives it a nice tone. I'm sure you could definitely get it to sound like that with the cat still on, just prob. depends on what exhaust you choose.

Reducing the price to $10,000 for the winter season.

If it doesn't sell by the end of the year, I won't be bumping this anymore. It'll still be for sale, but I will be working on it and fixing the minor problems it has. After that in the spring I'll bump it back up, but the price will go up a little bit from what it is now.

EDIT: Please learn some proper English before you post again. I was not clear on what you meant by this.

Anyways...$9500 is the lowest I can go on the car now. My loss. I had a few people come out who were interested, but fell through. I still don't have to sell the car. I would like to though, so I can move onto my next project.

The most I can get out of this is:

"This car is way too good for those who do not know about the history about the 240z, and how much of a classic it is. This thread and website provide all the information you could ever want in your wildest dreams. Thank you"

I also think it should have gone "Please learn some proper English before you post again"

Don't know how everyone sits with you bashing someone when 10 out of 13 of your posts on the forums have been to selling your car.

Your right, sorry. Maybe I misunderstood what they were trying to say. I didn't think to realize the option that they were not for the U.S.
