Exclamation 78 280z

Hey im having problems with my 280 getting it on.. i have the N47 Intake manifold and the F54 block. ok well i know there's spark because ive tested twice. and just in case i bough tnew NGK sparkplugs. and the wires seem to work fine. the coil wors long story short. the car has GAS, it has SPARK, the fuelpump sends the gas but when i turn the key the engine turns but it makes no noise as to it wanting to turn on basicly there's NO EXPLOTIONS so i was thinking maybe the timing or the sparkplg wire arrangement was wrong. so if i coulg get any help or link that tells me what the arrangement looks like fo rmy 1978 280z F54 block, N47 intake manifold. or if i could get both the 280zx and 280z just in case i got the 280zx distribuitor. thanks hope i can get the beast running no later than tomorrow.

Are your injectors working? It's gonna be pretty hard to set timing even remotely close when the engine isn't running. I don't think it's timing preventing you from running. My ZXT's timing was away off and still fired up.

yeah it IS ht emarket place i placed the question in the wrong place. but at the same time its a slight. NO i did'nt put it in the wrong place since i AM in the process of selling this car..... so pretty much NOW YOU! know that i have a 280zx engine swap. with a smell problem . how can i know if the injectors are working by NOT taking the fule rail off ETC. could it be that the sparkplug wire arrangement is wrong ?

firing order is 1,5,3,6,2,4. Start at #1 on the cap and go COUNTER-clockwise. Do you have a timing light to check timing? I PM'd you about your car.

You can check the fuel injectors a couple of ways. You can use a noid light to see if they're firing. It will flash every time the injectors get a signal. Another way is to use a flat head screwdriver. Put the metal head to the top of the plastic part of the injector while someone cranks the engine. With your palm on top of the screwdriver handle you should be able to feel the injector clicking. Another method with the screwdriver is to put your ear to the handle with the screwdriver in the same position and listen for the clicking.
