Z car owner's dream in this 1972 Datsun 240Z 80% restoration. I have owned this car since high school (1990) in Florida where it was restored and modified after purchase as my first car. While originally orange from the factory, it has been yellow and blue, but is now back to its original orange factory tones. After I left Florida in the 90s, the car remained, rarely driven, and ultimately sat at a Z Car specialty shop in Tampa for years. The car finally made its way to Pittsburgh about 5 years ago where it's undergone a slow but thorough restoration by local auto wizard, Jim Winter. All rust has been addressed, particularly in the "normal" spots, and the interior has been replaced with leather seats and new material where needed. It runs well but needs a little mechanical attention, mainly with tuning and brake line bleeding.

The first (1991) restoration turned this car into a pocket rocket as the motor was built to RUN. Although the original block and head were kept, I bored it 40 over and had lots of work done on the head, but it corroded when it sat so had to be replaced with a less custom part. The biggest gem is the triple SK (Weber) carburetor setup which gives amazing performance. I tried to keep as much of the orginal classic look about the car while giving it a race car's mechanical heart.
