Want to do TT Swap

By the way, if you haven't already, you need to upgrade your fuel pump. I was looking at this for when I do mine but the Walbro one is about 50 bucks cheaper and will do unless you're going for big power.

Why do a front clip? I live near Orlando, and JDM Tech Motors offers a VG30DETT for $1500. I would need another couple grand for plumbing, intercoolers, fuel pump, etc. But that leaves me well under $4k. Is there something I'm missing that makes the clip better?

I used my harness, but spliced all the fuel injector connectors on mine from the jdm harness. I'll get a fuel pump in the future. The NA fuel pump is suppose to be able to handle up to 450 hp. So I'm good for right now.

I don't know why people say to stay away from the JDM clip. I was able to swap motor and transmission. My exhaust bolted straight up to it. If you use the NA tranny you have to shim the starter and grind down the bell housing.
When pulling the motor and putting it back it would be easier to drop it out of the bottom if you had a lift. When pulling from the top and putting it back in I had to loosen the subframe quite a bit to get the oil pan past the rack and pinion.
You also have to take into consideration that you have to get a reflashed ECU, motor mounts, spark plugs, and boost gauge at the very minimum.
In conclusion the clip has everything you need minus the items I just mentioned. To the mechanics that say this swap is to difficult you're wrong. It only took me a total of 8 working days to complete this swap. I actually wouldn't mind doing the swap for someone if they wanted to pay me for it and had all the parts up front. Definitely not the hardest thing I've ever done.

Haha, this is all great news for me. I'm still torn between an LS3 swap or staying original with a JDM clip. This seems a lot easier though.
I still could have sworn you had to change the fuel pump but maybe that was just because I was pricing things out for a 450 horse build.

It's great! Fastest thing I raced is a Trams Am WS6 and I stayed nose to nose with him. A friend of mine has a stock 85 Corvette he wants to race me with. Don't know when we will be going to the strip, but I'll let you know how she stands against the Corvette.
