used vs new turbos
Greetings zxers ,
The time has come for me to get turbos. Used or new is the big question. Do you guys have any suggestions. I am in the washington, dc area. I am also seeking a mechanic I can trust. What is the labor time on those babies. I can get new turbos for about 815.00 each yet I hear you can get used for about 350 and rebuilts for 500.00. I am open to all suggestions best regards dana

Well,
You have to pull the engine to do this, and then you'll have to upgrade your fuel injectors as well, and a lot of other things that you won't want to have to do again.
So buy the new parts, buy all the right parts, do it once, do it right, and no it's not cheap.
If I was going to do it personally I'd do the TD05-16G with the header kits and 550 cc injectors..
That's just me though

I would go 740cc rather than 555s....do you just want to go stock twins again or just get something a bit over stock...none the less if you upgrade your turbos....you will need to get these upgrades!

injectors
Exhaust
intake
intercoolers
running on bigger turbos either a tad bigger or a noticable size will need to be prepped with those upgrades to get the best performance out of them...
thats my 2 cents.
