Hey guys...

I'm having a little problem with my throttle cable sticking when it's wide open or close to it. The pedal will stay down and the car will keep accellerating.

Most of the time if i just tap on it... it comes free... but sometimes it doesn't and i'm forced to shut the engine off in neutral. It'll come out... and i can start it back up... put it back in gear and resume "normal" driving.

Any ideas? is this common? heard of it before?

sounds to me like either the throttle cable or the throttle linkage is sticking.
Hit'em up with some lubricant. See if that helps, also might be wise to see if there's any obstruction near the pedal itself that it might be hanging up on.

OIF THREE is almost over... there's more to come. We'll be in this country for atleast the next 3-4yrs for sure.

 

Common problem, usually caused by one of the steel breather pipes coming loose by the throttle housings and jamming the linkage.
