sport switch?

hey, ok so im out to get a 1992 300zx twin turbo and am gonna make it my baby and hook it up. I was wondering if anyone knows where there is a way to make it become economic and then with the push of a button sporty? Has anyone seen it tried before?

uhhhh... no. It was already tuned as a compromise for performance and economy. It's possible, MAYBE if you went full stand alone with a dual tune and one was at jack **** for boost and with a very stoich/slightly lean tune and the other was whatever you want. but that will cost you 2k plus tune time. If you can't afford a car like a TT then don't buy one, cause I promise you this, it will NEVER be an affordable car between maintenance and fuel.

First off, the 300ZX is a sports car - it will NEVER be economic. You will be hard pressed to top much more than 20mpg on the best of days with the most *****-footed driving.

Second off, you can get a dual-tune ECU from any Z32 tuner (SpecialtyZ and ZTuner come to mind). They are basically ECUs with two fuel maps that you toggle between with a switch. Generally, one is programmed for high boost with race fuel, and the other for street use. Contact either aforementioned tuner for specifics.
