Single Turbo

I was wondering if it is possable or probable to convert a TT to a single turbo?...I know alot of guys with supras do this because it spools up alot faster so it is a good idea...well i was looking at it and i dont know how you would do it..so i was wondering if anyone has done this yet or if anyone thinks it can be done and how?

You won't get faster spool time on a "V" shaped engine with a single turbo.

The engine and the engine compartment are really designed for a dual turbo setup. You will have a hard time getting an exhaust manifold collector pipe to fit between the engine and the firewall. Also, it will hard to get 1 large turbo to fit. The two small turbos are already shoe-horned in there. Anything can be done, but I don't believe it would be financially feasible. You'd probably have to move the engine forward to give you more room to work; which would really have a negative effect on the handling of the car.

I saw a video with a Maroon Convertable 300ZedX... Single Turbo.

It was racing a Supercharged S2000.

It was entitled " 600hp Convertable Z vs Supercharged S2000"

The guy in the Zed kept missing third gear every time they would try and race... But when they actually hit it right. Gone.

It would be VERY hard. You would either have to be mechanically inclined, or financially inclined. An extreme in either direction.

But if you feel compelled to do so... Have fun.

It's this guy's Z. Awesome Z, but I wouldn't do it.

Sick race

The original video I saw was longer, and showed the S2000's engine and the Zed's turbo.

Watch those though... Nice videos.

a buddy of mine ran into a guy with a single turbo Z, he was it was really mean. He did a huge *** burnout all the way through 4th for em. On top of it all, it beat my buddy's R6. I only wish I could have seen it.

Wasn't the original "Turbo Z" a 280 with inline 6 and single turbo?

Yes, the original 280z turbo was an inline 6 with a single turbo. The Z31 is a V6 (obviously) with a single turbo. The TT was the 1st production car that Nissan made with a twin turbo setup. Nissan could've gone with a single turbo, or a sequential turbo setup, but then our Z's would look like a Supra with a long-*** funky lookin' hood.

R6!?! As in an Audi R6? Sweet!

TT, 450 h.p. from the factory? It'd be awesome.

My son wants one for his college grad present. He's hoping the gramps will help him out. They offered to buy him a car.

An R6 as a college grauation present?!? Either I graduated from the wrong college, or I was born into the wrong family. I got a brief case and a business suit from my parents; neither of which I use anymore. I'm surprised there wasn't a letter in the briefcase that read something like this....

Son-
Congratulations on graduating from college. Good luck finding a job and a place to stay, because you're not moving back in with us.
Hugs and kisses,
Mom and Dad.
