rebuilt engine and turbos...reliable?
hey-
i'm thinking about buying this 1990 twin turbo with 180k miles on the body. its been babied like hell and has had all the services done to it.....no accidents and a clear carfax report...but, the engine and tranny and turbos were rebuilt about 10kmiles ago...when something is rebuilt...is it basically as good as new? to an extent? what should i look out for? i'm going to change out the suspension, and the rotors were changed too....what should i ask him about? like problems he's had..like coolent system? hoses? stuff like that?

ask for receipts from the shop where he had the work done. Look for the techs name and go ask his opinion of the car and its working state. No receipts=No sale. He could be tellin stories to get you to buy. 180k on a turbo is a bit excessive and if he's held on to it this long, sounds like he's only willing to part with it if something major is wrong. Don't get too overeager.

10k since complete rebuild and 180k chassis...
Rebuilds CAN be very good but Never like new.
(Lots of factors are envolved...)
But You should take it to a trusted mechanic and have
the car inspected on a hoist.
How much is he asking?
And do you personally know the seller?

, Be cautious of who you trust. I have people that wont buy from me because they say a Skyline for 25 g is too good to be true, so they think I am full of ****. So be sure you are not OVER cautious to the point of you lose your dream car over a hunch. But do be careful, and not foolish. And Rizz.... HAHA, thats great.

Rizzspeed, for your info i dont like your ***. Maybe other guys do alright. Obviously it was just a matter of sense of humor. I see how you people take things so serious online. , Sorry bout that man, im used to bitches talking **** over the internet(Then when you get in their face at school the next day, they bitch out), and at the time I just got done beating the hell outta some kid who said " CAR *** ", so I was on edge. I hate it when people back down just because I am 6 foot 7 inches tall, 295 lb's (oh and I am a stand up comedian on the side for fun too....
