Question about lights and radios...
I just got a 90 300ZX n/a this past weekend, but the reverse lights don't work. Is that a chronic problem with Z's, or is it just mine? The bulbs are good, but I was just wondering if anyone had any other ideas, like maybe a bad switch on the transmission?
Secondly, the damn Bose system. I've been told by three stereo places that I'll have to buy new speakers and rewire the whole thing. Since I don't have the time or the patience to do all this myself, does anyone have any recommendations for keeping the final bill under $600? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Question about lights and radios...
I also have a 90 NA and i have not heard nor had any problems with the reverse lighting... Check the fuses and do all the simple checks first.
About the system, I just bought my Z as well and the bose system is dead on mine too. I was told the same thing. You can get a whole lot for under 600 bucks.... I am bringing mine to Best buy this weekend to put a system in it (4 speakers, woofer, amp, in deck cd). It will all be installed for about $650 so the answer is yes. You ca get it done for under 600.
have a good one.

Re: Question about lights and radios...
I'm not too sure yet. I am graduating from High School on Saturday so it is a grad present. I have a 2 seater so i am putting the amp behind the driver seat on the "wall" and the woofer either on the shelf behind the seats (although that will probably get annoying) or my other option is behind the wheel wells..(in the trunk ofcourse).. i'm not sure what i can fit there but i have to leave room for the t-tops. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Question about lights and radios...
the labor for "re wiring" should not cost you more than 200 dollars for it, but then put the cost of the new monster cable you will want to use. plus add price of parts...
600 bucks is kinda low, but it depends on what you want to replace, and the quality. i just got done spending 2300 dollars on my audio upgrade....

Re: Question about lights and radios...
You don't have to spend the big bucks or get new speakers. Talk to the guys at Crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) and ask them about the adapter required for use with Bose speakers. The adapter is made by Scosche (p/n FAI-1A as I recall) and costs about $50. For a person on a budget it works fine.
