I know this has been posted before, but... What do you think the diffrence between and Unorthodox Pulley for $200+, a pulley from Criket Performance.com for $89.10, and a pulley thats on ebay right now for $69.99 buy it now. I would like to get one. And im sure that they are all the same and the real diffrence is the name, they are all aluminum lightened pulleys, what do you guys think?

The UP usually comes with a belt but that still doesn't justify the big price. I guess it all comes down to who you trust.

Well... No, its like the difference in Walmart shirts, and Structure shirts, ones cheaper for a reason, much lesser quality (not downing Walmart shirts, haha) I would just go to SGPRacing.com and steal theirs for $160 with all belts. Thats just me personally. Peace foo's

3rd! one problem with lightweight pulleys is the vibration at high rpms. there is this thing i saw on ebay. this underdrive balancer. it's like a pulley, a little bit heavier but the eliminates the vibration so you can rev it up higher. thats what i am gonna get for my tt. right now i have UR set and i am pretty happy with it.

4th!. I have the SGP crank pulley and the UR accessory pulleys. Everything works great. wrecker, I didn't read through the link you provided, but there's a difference between a harmonic balancer and a harmonic dampener. People have combined the 2 over the years. The Z32 doesn't have a balancer. The crank is already balanced. The TT crank is manufactured within such tight specs that you shouldn't have any problems as long as the crank pulley is properly machined. I wouldn't feel comfortable buying something from a no-name manufacturer. The quality may leave something to be desired. If the lightened crank pulley is not properly manufactured, then it could wobble on the crank, especially at 7000 RPM's. That's bad. Very bad.

thanx 91. i actually read up and it just confirmed what you said about the crank being balanced. i guess less wight on the crank=more power. i agree. i wouldn't put anything on my Z that is not an already performance proven manufacturer. i would rather save up and get the more expensive brand, and have a piece of mind than buy something cheap, with no name, or recognition

so how do you avoid the "wobble" again? I'd like to do this mod, but not if it's gonna cause wobble.

well you can take the crank pulley off and get it checked, but if you don't feel it you should be ok. a friend of mine got a fisher ballancer pulley, and he said that inner part spins freely from the outside part, so it prevents vibration at higher rpms. i've been trying to find the website, but i don't think i've bookmarked it on any of the computers. i'll keep looking

The Z pulley is solid. There is no inner or outer part. It all spins together. If the pulley is not properly machined, for example if the pulley isn't balanced, then it can 'wobble'. It would defeat the purpose of the crank being balanced. It would be similar to having a tire out of balance, or the whell not being perfectly round, except for the crank spins much faster than your wheels do. Does that help explain it. What I'm getting at is a pulley is a pulley, but I don't recommend going with a never-heard-of manufacturer do to quality of production. It would be very difficult to put the crank pulley on incorrectly. The crank has a keyed shaft, and it fits very tight on there. You end of using the crank bolt to pull the pulley in place. Rizz had mentioned before, when I had similar questions, "If the monster Z's can handle, so can your car.
