Anything is possible with time and money.. Would you rather spend it for a 300hp engine, or build up the VG30, personally the 550rwhp is pretty easy to get out of the VG30..
Why start a mess when you have the parts right there..

In a word...
Yes...recommended? NO! You can make lots of power out of the VG block. Why bother?
