Question Transmission swap: Skyline R30 into 280ZX

I'm looking into doing a transmission swap from auto to manual. The most viable option for me is to get a gearbox from the R30 Skyline 2.8GTX with the L28E motor.

If I can get the driveshaft, differential and clutch/brake pedal assembly, should this be a doable swap? What about the driveshaft length (& where would I find this info)?

I appreciate any input, cheers.

Thought so! I'm in South Africa. Classic Z cars are scarce, but you can still find stock Skylines around running L28E's. They are quite common compared to the 280ZX. Didn't the R30 make it to the US?

The R35 was the first Skyline made for the USDM. We have tons of R31-R33s here in Canada and now the R34s but even here the R30 is rare.

For a replacement tranny we use the S13 or with some mods for the ultimate tranny swap the Z32.
