nissan factory alarm
I am a the new owner of 1990 300zx and it is driving me crazy. Can someone please help me to rremove the factory alarm. The guy who I brought it from said that he had it removed, but obviously he didn't. It does not arm all the times, just some of the time. I think it has something to do with the door lock but I don't know. Please help, I can't afford to have the car towed again.

Re: nissan factory alarm
you just have to lock your doors while the door is open , then close the door , and for removing it , i am not really sure why u wanna do that , i have a 93 na that has the factory alarm and custom alarm both working , i can activate both at the same time , if you by passed the first you get the second , max security .

Re: nissan factory alarm
hey guys. this is a question related to the original.... I recently just bought a 90 300zx N/A coupe from a guys who had someone try and break into it. All the damage that was done was to the driver's door handle and lock. So i went to a auto-body shop to have it fixed up and when they changed the lock, they found it to be a straight mechanical lock with no connection for an alarm.......is that how it is stock or has it been messed with by the previous owner? Nissan dealership gave me a lock that had connections to an alarm. thanks for any help.

Is it going off? What exactly are symptoms?
I'd start by shutting all doors, hatch hood, tight then shut the door. If you get an orange flashing alarm, that means something's not shut properly. For me it was the hood and it needed some adjusting. If once you lock it and it's solid orange it should be armed and you're good to go. Try pulling on the door handle, hatch and maybe push/pull the hood to see if it goes off after it's armed. If it does then you've got some adjusting to do.
