New toys for my car

Im getting my engine for my 91 300zx 2+2 n on monday.jus yester day i spent 900 dollars on sum headers, jwt street racing clutch, and a fidanza fly wheel. All frum ultimate Z(engine too). i cant wait to get it all together, i havent driven my baby since last year june.(threw a rod).how much power output do you think i will have? oh and i got a JWT single pop charger and a new underdrive pully.

You will have and NA I assume so you should not expect anything fantastic. I am guessing if it is a new engine you are looking at tops of 240hp.

by what stillen says, he should have approx 260 strong without a catback

but id say closer to 250 at the crank with that engine

i have the stock exhaust, i just gutted out the cats. does that do any better for the perfomance. wus the size on the stock exhaust anyway

Why don't you put Test pipes on there instead of ripping out the cats =P

If you're running an NA then you're it's not likely to make a noticeable difference. A turbo car will react better do to the fact that it will relieve back pressure which helps the turbo spool. But again, power gains would be minimal. Gutting cats is a lot of work considering a couple test pipes at an exhaust shop wont run you too much.

tru, i gutted them like a year ago. stabbing all that honeycomb with a screwdriver and hammer.

And your car is in perfect condition as released from the dealer? Age = losses

he does have a rebuilt engine

throw it on a dyno, and ill probably be wrong, but i like to be optimistic

a dyno....i wish i can find one around here. im n oklahoma. im sure theres one n dallas or oklahoma city. would anybody happen to kno of one???
