New Electrical Issue.

Ok Peep dis.

All of a sudden the car wont start. It comes on electrically, then I go to turn it over and it all dies. Then if i slam the door, the electric comes back on normally. The battery is fine, and its not the alternator.

Also, I dont think my fuel pump is comming on, but I dont remember really.

It sems like a sort to me. But I dont know whats shorting it out. I took my amp out and disconnected all that jazz.

Also.

I had that issue a while ago with the accesories. I since then hooked my radio up to my battery which I also disconnected in hopes of finding out whtats going on.

The car clicks so I want to say its not the starter as well. Get back to me with anything.

start looking for loose wires around. Also, this happened to mea while back, it ended up being that the positive terminal on the battery was almost off, it popped off since I didn't tighten as much as I needed to. It was still making contact enough for all the accessories to work , but not enough to crank.

I had the same problem.heres a way to check it. Get a test light test the actual battery post. then check the battery terminal if it lights up your good if not you might have to change the battery terminal or at least clean it.

Check your main ground, then check the the positive and negative leads that run to the starter.

Dude you said that when you rock or shake the door you have power. Im not saying this is your problem for sure but id check inside your door. Check the grounds and all electrical. i used to work for a company that built window regulators and that happened a few times with some GM vehicles

Im going to check the cables to my starter. I had this problem with my brothers prelude about a year ago. I never got to check it out becuase it was so cold and since he got the car for free he just wound up junking it. It sucks becuase its really really cold out right now, which makes me question why all this crap happens when its starting to get cold.

P.S. For those who dont know, I did eventually get the door and the fender fixed, with that I got the entire car repainted to that blue sapphire color, it came out pretty nice. It could have been better, but Id say im about 90% happy with it. That happened last year around september, or when the cold weather starts to roll in.

Remember my drive shaft issue. Winter

Remember my alternator issue. Winter.

Whats up with all this.

This is probably a really stupid question, but is it possible, at all, for me to check those wires to my starter without having to get under neath my car????

Thanks for all the help so far.

As im sitting here in class, doing nothing. Thats ok becuase im usually sleeping, i'm looking at the car repair guide for my Z. Am I right to say that the starter is located on the top of the car. In the right hand upper corner, under the hood of course. I have never had to work with a starter before. Im a starter novice. Werd up.

NO................. .... Well kind of. You can check the upper endz coming off the battery from the top. For the lower endz, you need to crawl under.

You'll probably need another person to help you check those wires.
