you can check each cylinder by unhooking the cylinder's coil pack and listening for an rpm change....if there isnt a drop, you found the culprit cylinder

also, there have been a few threads lately about engine misfire and rough idle and such in the tech forum... check out the links in those threads

Hey, look at this way. Injector being bad is way better than low compression. It's way cheaper to fix, and way easier.

i took it outta my na 300 thinking (oh yeah its form a 90 though) that the injector was bad in that cylinder. replaced it ot no change. found out the compression was bad. i almost cried. but i sold the car as if it were perfect so i guess i lucked out.

Sounds like it'll be somewhat of a pain, but if it's anywhere remotely near the process I had to go through with the Z31, it shouldn't be all that hard to do. I know for the Z31 I basically had to remove the engine cover plate, intake collector, intake manifold and then I was at the injectors. It really didn't take anywhere near as long as I thought it would. If you've got a Haynes or an FSM you should be pretty well off.

for us. you have to remove teh intake plenum....which is a bitch and a half. or theres this "dremel way" where you grind the plenum just enough to fit a screw driver down there to loosen the injector cover plate and then pull it all out. the danger of this though it you can go to far and drind a hole in your plenum. i did this. but fixed it with high temp epoxy and some kevlar sheeting.....worked great...still a stupid *** mistake, and all due to careless and laziness. but i also sold the car a week later. so its no longer my problem i guess.

In my experiance with my 93 NA 2+2 rebuilt is not a good option when brand new is availible. These cars eat rebuilds for lunch.....at least mine does.

oh i found a place on Riz's vendor link. search for misfire and injector, a post i started. i list a company that i got a BRAND NEW injector for my car at only 60 somehting dollars. they were on crazy sale. i dont know if they still are. (btw it wasnt my injector i wasted money.......doh) but yeah they were a really good price compared to the usualy 116 dollars or w/e they are. good luck with the injector removal. if your doin it by yourself and its your first time. patience. thats all that matters.

got the injector out and it looks like its been replaced before so that worries me, what could cause it to keep killing the same injector? snwbrd, did you replace just one of your injectors with the nissanpartspro.com ones?
