So my 91 TT 5 speed has a rear main seal leak. The dealer wants $1000 to fix it. My local shop doesn't want to touch it. I don't really want to do the job myself. 10 hours or so on my back just isn't appealing. Any suggestions as to who would give me a deal on the labor?

Theres a real good shop in Jersey, its only about an hour away if you wanted to take that drive....

I dont see why it would take a shop more then an hour to do, other then wanting to screw you.

 

you think they can drop the tranny, pull the clutch, change the seal, and reassemble in an hour?
