Knock Sensor
Knock Sensor
If you were a knock sensor in a 1990 300zx n/a, where would you be?
Furthermore, is replacing the knock sensor something that's relatively easy to do, or should i have a mechanic do it for me?

The knock sensor is under the plenum on the block. And it's a VERY hard thing to replace and a very expensive thing to have replaced (abour $900). Some have just bypassed it because of this. Not recommending doing that, but it's an option.
Some people may tell you to just relocate it, but it's not a good idea. Nissan put it where it is for a reason. That reason is that it works best there. Just an FYI, I don't recommend relocating it. However; relocating it is more cost effective than replacing it and is better than disconnecting it. Your call.

Once the upper plenum is removed the lower plenum is visible it looks like 6 holes in a row.
