Its a cold winter..

Ok so, I already did some searching but only found two threads about the heat.

Mine, does not work.

What that means is.

It blows, but for the most part its blowing cold air.

I dont have AC so im not retarded and turning that on instead.

What I do know.

Thermostat is new.

Heater core is ok, theres no smell of coolant or anything to lead to a bad heater core.

I was told that there may be a valve that isnt open, or is stuck or something but Im not sure where.

The only post I found says something about the water ****.

Thats all I got.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

Well.. Pretty simple. Follow the two hoses coming out of the firewall in the engine bay. Those are the hoses that supply the heater core with a fresh supply of hot coolant. Is there a valve anywhere in the hoses? Is it a manually controlled petcock? If so, turn it. If you see no valves, you could have a clogged heater core. But, you usually get some warm coolant flow.

there's another valve, that changes direction of air. all in all, the Z32 climate control system is intimidating as crap. you can do an on-board diagnostic and you have about 6 different screens of things that you can adjust. i forget where the write up is, but you should probably find that and run the diagnostic and stuff. i think it's in the FSM actually. yeah it is.

Yeah, that could be it too. Could be that it is not directing the air over the heater core.
Are they all cable controlled, or vacuum? I know my 260Z is all cables.

i'm pretty sure there aren't any cables in this system considering that the climate control is digital. i've been under the impression that it was run electrically. there are sensors with wires going to them in the ducts in a few places that i've found already.

Haven't messed with a Z32.
Haven't even sat in one in a long time. But, often there are vacuum solenoids that control the actual doors.
Can you hear the doors moving, going from normal vent to heat?

Yeah you can hear it click over.

It comes through warm once in a while. But when I say warm, i mean like, 60degrees. Which does jack when its 30 degrees out.

Im going to check the lines today and see if somethings clogged up.

If that doesnt work, ill do the FSM.

Thanks everyone
