Intake Question Help

I got a question for everyone. Jim Wolf Technologies sells a dual pop charger. I don’t know if anyone is familiar with it. This package removes the original pop charger and in place adds two. The idea is to trick the computer by placing the MAF (mass air flow) sensor on one of the pop chargers. By doing this the airflow sensor will only measure half of the actual air flow going into engine. Here is where I am confused. If it is only reading half the airflow when there is really twice as much air going in that would lean out your engine, won’t it. And wouldn’t you blow your engine because of this. Plz HELP!!

that modification is only recommended for 450-500+ hp engines. It is also required that you have the ECU modded. In the ECU mod is the necessary program to take advantage of the dual POP charger mod, among all the other mods necessary at that power level.

like Rizz said, you don't need it unless you are running monster power, even with the ecu mod you'll run lean , and your car won't be as smooth. instead of spending money on that kit, just get a nice high-flowing exhaust, and you'll see better results than doolz

No it won't be ok.
Do you understand what exactly you need to have in your engine to produce over 450+ hp? Besides larger turbos, really large fuel injectors, different cams, hi flow headers, downpipes, exhaust, larger intercoolers, modified cooling system, etc. etc. etc.
With all that done to your car, THEN you would need the added benefit of more air. Otherwise, like as was stated before by ZWrecker, it's just a waste of money. So I would suggest you concentrate on something beneficial to your car at it's present stage of tune. One step at a time buddy, one step at a time.

in that link which I had made a sticky in the Performance/Technical section, lists a stage chart. You might wanna give it a glance.

SO that package only works when you have a properly modified ecu. I appreciate you helping me with this. You probably saved me some money and saved me an engine. So for that i thank you.

Im still confused on what that package is designed to do. Does anyone know how the ecu works with the dual pop charger if the maf is only measuring 1/2 of the airflow entering the engine

The ECU is programmed to measure the correct amount of air. Whether you're only using one or two MAF's, the ECU knows what's going on.
Just trust in the ECU and the programmers.

Stickers, fart can, neons, steel rims in the front, bling bling......... Youve missed out on so much stuff you need to make your car that fast.
