How to convert from 93 to 94
#6
I've seen countless Z's of all years, 90-96.
I have not noticed any difference in the locking mechanism. There's no seperate "button" that locks or unlocks the doors as in most other vehicles. Other than the two actual locks on both doors, there's never been anything other than the key and/or the keyless entry system that would lock or unlock the doors.
If keyless entry is what you're after Robert, I think an aftermarket alarm system with keyless entry is your best bet. Most all of them from the most expensive to the cheapest of the cheapys should incorporate keyless entry nowadays.

if you have a 92 plus, you can have keyless entry done without an actuator.... there is a brown and yellow wire in the kick panal.... our cars are a pain in the ***.... nissan put a one wire lock system in our cars, so one wire controlls lock and unlock(the brown/yellow one).... you have to put a relay in, and set it up special, i would take it to someone who knows what theya re doing..... i have a 90 TT, and there wire isnt in there, so i had to put an actuator in my door, and run wires through my boot, it was a pain, but it work fine.... but, i would take it to Circuit City.... i work there, they will warranty the install for as long as you have the car, and you can take it to any of the stores if you ever move or anything, or you can take it to best buy, i think they are the same way.... i would deff not recommend doing it by yourself tho, its a pain.... anyway... if you have any questions, just ask me.... later man

Those acuators suck. I have one in my door that quit working. I have tot take the door panel off to find out what happened. As it sits now, I can't lock the doors with my alarm remote. It's a real ****-off.
