High Idle

Car idles at 2500 most of the time. Adjusting the idle adjuster all the way down makes it idle at 2000. It idles at 2500 almost all of the time which makes me think its a leak or something but to idle that fast it would have to be a big enough leak that I would assume id hear it.

I did some srpaying and it never stops of changes so I dont know whats up with that.

I disconnected the battery so it would reset but still nothing changed. It starts up normal, normally starting at like 1500 then only goes up from there sometimes revs by itself a few times before staying at 2500.

I just had the maintenance done on it, timing and all of that and I dont know where to go from here. Wassabi with this jim jam??

You cannot definatively say it's a vacuum leak. In all honesty, I can almost guarantee it isn't.

In fact, I'm 99% sure it's a bad timing job, now that I realized you said you had the timing done recently.

Take an ignition timing light to it... I'm willing to bet that it's going to be jumping around. Your timing belt was put on poorly... probably a tooth or two off. This would cause fluctuating at first and then settling at a high idle.

How do I know? I've done it... I was a tooth off and had very similar symptoms.

Not a vacuum leak. Besides ignition timing, check your TPS settings.

It idled high even before I had the timing belt done, but im going to take a timing light to it tomorrow. I think it has something do with a vacuum leak becuase when I puch the break down the idle goes way down then it picks back up like the engine is compensating for a leak or something.
