Help ~ Oil guage not working!

OK - let me start by saying that I'm new to the 'Z' World - but, I've been a long time admirerer from afar. Anyway - I just bought a '96 Z32 and I'm loving it!
Found her in Atlanta via AutoTrader.com. ('scuse me while I brag on her a bit - I feel like a new dad!!) She was a 1 owner and she only has 31K one her -- mint condition!

Anyway - my question to the forum is: The oil guage isn't registering at all. Oil level is fine - but, no pressure at all. Any thoughts?? Is this a common problem??

Thanks for any input on this.

You need a new oil pressure sending unit.
Here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=25070-00001
Or go to www.conceptzperformance.com and send them an email and they can get it.

No problem. BTW congrats on the Z man. Any pics? Oh and those oil sending units do tend to go out alot unfortunately. I had to replace mine when I got the Z.

No pics yet - it's been kinda rainy the past couple of days --- but, I'll post some ASAP. BTW - stupid question, I'm sure, but where exactly does the oil sending unit go? Like I said before - I'm totally new to the whole Z experience - so, excuse my ignorance.

It's right next to your oil filter.

Hey ZXDude90 ~ got the new oil sending unit from Courtesy Nissan (thanks again for the link). Got it installed and fresh oil in my baby - pressure gauge is working great! Interesting li'l tidbit, though - the old unit's wire had been cut! Go figure that one out - why on earth would someone cut the wire? Only thing I can figure is that someone was trying to take advantage of the previous owner. Apparently the guy who had the car before me had taken it to some kinda Jiffy Lube or something for it's oil change. And according to the sticker that was in the window when I bought it - he was about due for his next service. I don't know - kinda weird - I'm thinking that that might be the reason the previous owner decided to get rid of her - 'cause he was afraid that he was gonna have to have some major work done.

Anyway - all's well now and I really appreciate your help! I'm gonna try to get some pics taken this week.
