power + ground if its not lighting up and if its not reading find the vacuum line prob needs to be replaced if this is a mechanical guage

IT lights up and goes strfaight to 6 psi and when the turbo kicks in ,it doesnt move.

Ok that sounds more like connector corrosion to me.

 

do you have vacuum readings on that that gauge or just boost? are you pushing more the 6lbs? When you start the car what does it read? Give us more detail on whats happening. Are you stock?

 

Im all stock, When I crank the car up u can hear the turbo turn on but the meter still reads -1 instead of like 6 or 7 or whatever the normal is.

 

So, the car is running and at idle. You are complaining because the meter is -1 when idle in the driveway????

no im in 2nd gear doing 35 and i hear it kick on but the gauge doesnt move

 

you checked the vacuum line and power terminals? Just 3 things you gotta check or could be a cheap old gauge

 

Turbos don't have an on/off switch.

What does your gauge read when the engine is off, but the key is in the ON position?

What does your gauge read when the engine is on and idling?

What does your gauge read when you are accelerating hard in gear?

What does your gauge read when you are cruising at a steady 45 in 4th gear?

 

-1 for all of the questions

 

If it's at -1 all the time, why did you say it goes to 6?

And have you heeded all the advice about checking the boost gauge / vacuum lines??????

 

whats the brand of the gauge?
