Good Learning Experience.

I guess this is technical.

I got the Z in November, put an intake into it and thats it. Changed plugs and oil, thats all the work. Then the alternator died. Not knowing how to change the belts or how to get the alternator in or out i went into this almost blindfolded. I replaced the old one in under an hour and a half, id say thats good for not knowing what I was doing. Didnt change the beltm at that point I didnt know how to, so i left it, it squeaked like no other. Today I got a new one, changed it in about an hour. The alternator one sucks i realized becuase you have to take the other two off. All in all it was a good learning experience. Now I know how to change out the alternator, the power steering pump if i had to, and I know how to change all the belts too. It was time well spent. But, this brings a question. Im at 62k. Im about to have my timing belt changed. Is it worth spending all the moeny on getting the pump changed to. It looks like it wouldnt be that hard to change??

Im paying $500-$600 for the 60k. Sounds like a good price to me, alot of places will do the belt only for like $400.

That's a good price for the 60k. The 60k should include the water pump as well as a bunch of other little parts.http://www.courtesyparts.com/z32/z32-tbkita3.html
It's not a good idea imo to change the belt only.

Yes. It includes the belt, the pump, the tensioner, seals, thermostat, some other stuff. I was gonna have it done at the same time since that is a pretty good price. I dont have these huge hands and I could just about get up underneath the the Z. So im sure the labor price is well worth the cost.

I would just pay someone to do it man... Have them do the underdrive pulley while they're at it. Add's some nut, for cheap.

By that I'm assuming he means frees up hp. damn kids!
But he has a point. The crank pulley needs to be removed anyway.

You guys act like I dont know this already. I think im going to go with the whole pulley set thou. Why spend like $212 for one pulley when i can get them all for like $400.
