I guess it could be the fuel pump...if there's no fuel being pumped to the motor than the car can't run. Can you hear a starter relay? If not, then it's not the fuel pump...it's something starter wise. If you can, then maybe. I'd go get it checked out before buying it...it could be something a lot worse. You can get fuel pumps through Z1 (a good used one...will work fine for cheaper) or Coz or another dealer like that.

i agree with emo....if the car is not starting there could be a million reasons why not....for example there isn't an engine in the engine bay ... you should get it checked out by the dealer or someone whom you trust...see if you can find a used fuel pump at the junk yard or something just so you can see if the car works...might be cheaper and faster than looking online, bc i know you wanna hear that Z start. good luck, and keep us upadated

I wouldn't take it to the dealer, but are there any Z specialists in your area? Take it to them perhaps. Get a compression test done as well.

I found these on ebay...don't know how trustworthy the used ones might be, but if the new ones are indeed new...

Even though I did a lot of online shopping for you...that's all I did. Don't forget phone calls and personal connections and such.

You could also try throwing some more specifics of the problem at us.
Does it crank?
Battery ok?
Does it throw spark?
Did you check all fuses and relays?
It could just be a loose or corroded connection.
There's so many different things it could be, more specifics would help. Narrowing down the problem will help considerably.

I agree. It could be the difference between a $300 fuel pump plus a whole lot of work and a .50 fuse. Or a free corrosion cleaning.

You should ask this guy how is he so sure it's the fuel pump, and why hasn't he replaced it? See what he says and let us know. Sounds fishy.
