Search. I can recall at least two threads covering this issue. It'll be your fuel system.

Oh yeah... MAS (a.k.a. MAF) or fuel system (forgot the MAS can cause that problem)

Are you sure its 3000 and not 2500 rpms? If it's 2500 rpms I can almost guarantee that it is your MAF sensor. More likely the MAF connector and/or associated wiring.

hmmm my bet's on your air flow
i had a similar problem with my Z
couldnt rev over 3,000 RPM
soo i had my MAF replaced at the shop and it works fine now
you should get it check at the shop to know for sure
get the car diagnose and fix it yourself

So I discovered that everytime I clear my ecu the car runs perfect for about half n hour then goes back to not wanting to rev over 2500-3000rpm.

How do I check my MAF?

is that your z with the jspec? nice.

you can look up in the online FSM how to check the MAF. just do a google search for "online 300zx FSM" and it's in there. i find it hard to navigate, but it's in there.

pretty sure that pic in his sig is not his Z. it's the yellow '99 that seems to be the most common example of the '99.
