Converting A/C to C/C

Hey guys, looking for a little guidence. The one thing I hate about my TT Z, is the fact that it didn't have the climate control feature. Is there an easy way to go about and convert?

are you fairly mechanical? because its kind of involved. i honestly dont know how involved it is for a z32 but for my 89 240sx it was a pain in the rear, i wouldnt recomend it, but it was fun. if you want to do this make sure you get a complete setup not just the unit. it will have to include all sensors which manual doesnt have, the harness is probably different, anything else could be a match but if you get a complete setup you know you have everything you need in stead of getting halfway done and finding out something doesnt match and you dont have heat/ac, well i guess you only really need ac being from FL. i hope this helps and if your looking for a complete setup i know of a place, and plan to spend between 200 and 300.

Well, I've done all my own work on my z32. Pretty inclined, um where would I be able to find a full kit? I test drove one with it, and I thought it kicked ***. I have to have it (in due time).

ok cool i just wanted to make sure because some people think things like that are really easy and they turn out to be a big mess. its can be fun and im sure if you look hard enough youll be able to find some sort of instructions instead of just guessing like i did. mine works so im assuming i did it right but ill never be sure so yeah let me find the number to the place and ill post it shortly. and if you have any questions just ask im sure i can atleast point you in the right direction.

looking at the FSM, you would need to add the proper mix door motors, in vehicle sensors (upper and lower), duct sensors (vent, foot, defroster), ambient sensor, and sunload sensor, not to mention the controls. there is a lot more to it, but thats with a quick glance at the FSM. i have never heard of anyone doing this to the z32, so you would be making it up as you go. there are probably better things you can spend your time and money on.

Thanks nismaniac for your help. I guess if I decide to do this it'll be a weekend thing, lol. Then I can be the first to do this to a z32. Maybe. The system is just bad *** ans worth having.

damn, guess I'm not the only one who had a desire for this system. One of these days I'll find some time to think some more about it....it would be really to have this setup.

hey no problem, i think it would be cool to be the first or one of the first to do this, and it is very nice to have. but understand entropy being skeptical because it is very involved. theres deffinately a few extra goodies than the unit for the 240sx. but go for it and let us know how it turns out. oh and question where does your control mount to. ive never seen a z32 without digital. or atleast none that i noticed.

that would just make it too easy ....I don't think anyone has ever done the swap before, and posted that sort of info. You'd be the first that I know of.

well atleast the unit mounts in the same spot, thats one down. for a parts list and diagram of the entire setup you can go to your local nissan dealer and they actually have to provide you with that info upon request and should be free of charge. you get it from the parts department usaully. i have almost an entire mr2 layout that i got from the toyota dealer and alot of 240sx diagrams. i also have the full wiring and electronics diagram for an 02 vr6 which is like 800 and some pages. they hate me at stealerships because i use them as a free resource and never buy anything. anyways enough of my babbling. so theres your answer, if it doesnt workout let me know and ill get it from the dealership down the street from me and send it to you.
