He'd only need a flywheel if there are cracks in it... they don't usually go bad otherwise. I'm sure if he resurfaces the flywheel, it'll be fine. He probably just needs a new clutch. And KasbeKZ, why would I flame you for pointing him in the direction of a used clutch? As long as it wasn't abused, there's nothing wrong with used. When I upgraded mine, my stock one was still usable and I could've sold it.

haha sometimes you are pretty unpredictable. usually when i mention used or cheap parts i would expect you to say "buy cheap, buy twice".

There is no question that a used clutch will not last as long as a new one (at least I hope there's no question about that), but it's not like you're telling him to go to Pep Boys or eBay to buy a cheap new clutch.

OEM used > crappy new
