Hello i made a post about buying a new tt but noone seemed to reply. ill keep it short. car is 1990 5 spd TT no engine knock no sputter no overheating only 65000 km. Car blows blue smoke out exhaust under boost. I dont think its valves or head gasket cause its only under boost and only blue smoke. Turbo seals ? Car still boost at 7 psi

Not that either comp good. if its turbos would adding thicker oil be a very temporary fix till i get new turbos? What can i do to reduce smoke till i get turbos? Thanks for your time also

 

I'd put money on turbo's or head gasket.

And no, thicker oil won't fix the leak unless you go with a crazy thick (gear oil) weight, even then it will just lessen the leak.

 

20w 50 oil is alright,won`t fix leak. turbo oil seal?

 

Okay thanks for the help guys. Is the turbo kit off ebay for 650any good? Says its two t2/t25. One mire thing is it risky to drive the car if turbos goin bad? Im not gonna drive it hard

 

I wouldn't risk it.

 

Could you explain why? Because of the turbo possibly coming apart?

 

I think what he meant was don't buy turbos off ebay. Not sure if turbos going bad would be an issue, as long as they don't seize mid-drive I'd imagine you'd be OK.
