AshSPEC MASSIVE IC's. So close...yet so far away!

Well, I attempted to install my AshSPEC IC's yesterday. Everything seemed to go okay in the beginning and then it all went haywire. We managed to get it all apart okay. The trouble started when I got my driver side IC on and couldn't figure out my coupler kit. I know I was missing something somewhere in my brain. I just manage to get the couplers to fit. I ordered them with 2.5" inlets/outlets and a coupler kit to fit my 2.0" piping. We were running out of time at the auto hobby shop on base (they were closing) so we had to give up and throw the stocker back on. * * * To add insult to injury, my friend mixed up ALL of the bolts and nuts. I couldn't believe it! We had a heckuva time figuring out what bolts went where after that. We managed to get it all back together but it sucks that all that time was spent in vain. Here's some pics of my poor attempt.

looks like the coupler wasn't long enough....

And was it really invain? having bigger IC's will be nice, and now know a little bit more of what your dealing with at least.....

True. I guess you can never really call experience "in vain".

that skyline behind you looks sweet. What do you plan on doing with your car when you move? I see all these military guys get into cars but then they go home....I cant imagine selling my car after all that.

I'm currently trying to figure out a way to bring her back to the states. I have a few leads that I am working on right now. If I can't bring her back then I have 2 options. I can sell her as is and only get between $6,000-$7,000 for her. The other option is strip her of my aftermarket parts and sell her for cheaper. I still have my stock tail lights, stock sidemarkers, & stock hood. I'd get some cheap rims and keep my current ones as well. The only mods left would be Aftermarket boost guage on A-pillar pod, JWT ECU w/ boost jets, intake, and exhaust. I figure I could maybe sell it for $3,000-$4,000 like that and still keep most of my parts. My main goal right now is to being her back stateside though.

you should sell it and bring back a skyline like the one in the back ground in one of those pics.

Not one like that. That is an R32. Only legal Skylines now are the R33's produced between 1/1/96-6/30/98.

It's not as easy as that. My car was alrady on the lift. I had no way to get anywhere. Even still, they wouldn't have had random hoses like that. I figured out what I need to do to make it work. I'm going to attempt to put them on again tomorrow. Apparently I have to cut part of the bend coupler and use the cut off part as an extension on the shorter one. It came with a joiner to connect them.
