please check search first for a question like this. heres a thread with plenty of information concerning a poorly running Z. https://www.zdriver.com/forums/showt...ight=high+idle

also, we need more details to fully help you. is this just an engine problem, or are you having trouble shifting as well?

Not a shifting problem. car only has a problem when cold---first 5-7 min. of driving then all of a sudden runs great. Initially when pullig out in first gear its not bad but as soon as you shift to second gear and let the clutch out it falls flat on its face and it does not matter how much your on the throttle. It takes a few seconds before it starts to accelerate at all. This also happens second-third gear shift but not as drastic. Any thoughts?

I could be rong but jus putting it out there. What size fuel injectors did u install. If there a big step up and your fuel pump isnt giving enough preasure then i think it can be a problem.
