Vg30de complete rebuild questions

Hey guys,

I am currently doing a full tear down and rebuild and I need some help making a decision. As far as the heads go, wwhat parts should I replace with OEM and what parts can I use aftermarket brand stuff? Here's a list of the parts I'm looking to replace new without question.

EXHAUST VALVES
INTAKE VALVES
VALVE SEALS
VALVE SPRINGS
HEAD BOLT SET
EXHAUST VALVE GUIDES
LIFTERS (AS NEEDED)

My quandry is with the total cost. If I go all OEM and get every part listed replaced, it's 1650.00!! I can save on the lifters if I just replace the ones that are really worn, but the rest of it is still pricey.

However if I go with after market replacements, I can save a crap load of this cost. Over 50%! I know the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, but in all of your experiences what brand are acceptable replacements? And which parts should I definitely not skimp on?

Thanks for any replies!

There are plenty of aftermarket parts that are better than oem and also cost less. Pricey doesn't always mean better. The final goal of your build should determine part selection. Are you doing a stock durabilitu rebuild, high rpm track build, future upgrades?
