let me get this straight... (this is exactly according to your post)

3:45 - the truck calls you to say he's lost
3:54 - you called AAA to report your broken-down car
4:02 - AAA says they'll have a truck come get you
4:30 - you call again to verify your location
5:40 - AAA calls and says the truck will be there at 7:00
7:23 - truck arrives

you say AAA sucks.. but sh*t... they seem pretty good to me if they had a truck call you before your car even broke down. I'm a member of the BP Motorclub, same type of thing, and they've never predicted any of my break-downs. Imagine how long you'd have waiting if they hadn't forseen the future. j/p Vlad Oh yeah, I assume you called AAA first at 2:54, right? Or were you toggling between eastern and central timezones?

So any ideas what happened? Sucks to hear that the car broke down.

sorry to hear about your problems. I've had AAA for a long time now and have had to experience the wait too. The thing you need to consider when needing them on a Friday night before a long weekend, is that alot of people are having problems and need a tow truck too. Tow truck drivers aren't the brightest people in the world, and without AAA, you prolly woulda / coulda had a tow truck there in 5 minutes. They only would have charged you $150 - $200 when they showed up, before they hook up, and then $5 - $10 per mile to get you where you want to go. And you have to hope they'll even take you where you want to go and not their lot / repair shop.

I've received the most $$$ benefit from AAA from wife and kidz having locked their keyz in the car and AAA comes with their slim-jim.

BTW: one of the best uses ever of my tax dollars ocurred in L.A. County a few years ago. They county (competitively bid) issued contracts to towing companies to patrol all freeways and major thruways during rush hours to help motorists. If you get a flat, run out of gas, or break down, there's generally a tow truck there to help you within 5 - 10 minutes. If you need gas, they give it to you and you're gone. Get a flat, they'll pull up, tell you to stay in your car, change your flat (if you have a good spare) and wave goodbye to you. If you're broken down, they get you to a safe place. All for no charge.

Good Luck with your repairs........

I have no Idea butsomwhoeI don;t thinks so. Towing companies and sutch gotta have insurance. so I think the insurance will pay. but informyour self first. I think their insurance will pay though.

Honestly, don't expect them to pay for it, you have no real proof that it was their fault (yeah, they may have great insurance companies, but they also know how to watch their asses). When my car got impounded (no, I wasn't racing or anything), the towtruck driver couldn't fit in my car and ended up popping the clutch to put it on the flatbed. The impact of my fascia on the flatbed actually ripped part of the fender off (I had to have it rewelded). I had no proof that it was their fault (my word against theirs and that's not good enough), so they didn't pay for it.

And Riz, if you think he's had a lot of problems in a short period, check out my post on 3ZC (I know how you feel about them, but that's where I posted this). Scroll down somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 the page and find my post.

I have roadside assistance through Allstase. It's $2/month. When the Z broke down it was pretty easy. When I called I specifically asked for a flatbed. I had to wait about 45 minutes. The guy started to hook it up from the front originally then I said,"Um, are you going to pay for the bumper when you rip it off?" He looked at me kinda funny, then hooked it up from the rear. No damage, no problems. Car looked kinda pitiful sitting there, but she made it home safely.

lol, that made no sense dude. He probably looked at you funny because he knew the angle of the ground relative to the flatbed is the exact same, whether you go at it from the front or back. The only difference is, if you pull it backwards the fascia will drag forward away from the car on the ground, and if you pull it from the front the fascia will be pushed back towards the car while dragging on the flatbed (either way it'll cause damage if it impacts). And any competant towtruck driver should have a few pieces of plywood to use as "pre-ramps" to get onto the flatbed with no damage. I'm just pointing out that if the fascia didn't drag in one direction, it won't drag in the other, and if it does drag one way, the only difference going the other way would have is the surface on which it drags.

Riz - it was my drivers side fender.

uhm actually from experience if you tow from teh front it will lean teh chain or belt against the top of the bumper wich can casue cracks or stuff to break (experience) and if you tow fromt he backworse case senario your bumper scratches on the floor, big deal. (yet to experience)

Congratulations, you understand basic geometry. With the front fascia that I have, he wouldn't be able to pull it up from the front without tearing it off. Yes, he had a couple 2x4's for a preramp, but it wouldn't have worked from the front. So, it actually made perfect sense.

Well I got my car back today, runs better, not perfect, the idle is still just a tad bit high and sometimes it idles at 1600 and just stays there and then you start moving again and then come to a stop and put it into neutral and it will idle at like 900-1200 but its better, it was a small little vaccum like that was messed up on the top of the engine, man these vaccum like are pissing me off, tommorow I'm going to my autos teacher after school and they have one of those smoke machines that hook up to the intake and you will be able to see where you have a leak is when the smoke comes out, ill post some pictures of the bumper later because its all duck taped up so I could actually drive, hopefully Triple A will give me some $$ for it so I can get a JDM one

I don't think anyone had as much bad luck with the z as I did.
Someone broke into my car at the dealership and stole a bunch of stuff, I'm going today to check it out.

Ooops, just got back from the dealership, guess my aunt didn't not understand polish as well as the guy telling her did, my car didn't get stolen, but broken into. Someone broke the passenger window, AGAIN, and stole my amp that was in the car covered by a blanket, my car wasn't the only one broken into, a few other 350zs and maximas were messed up too, the guy said he will check out the video tapes of sunday night, because thats when they suspect it happend. He said they have 27 digital cameras all over the place so hopefully they will see something, they beter replace my window, I don't know about the amp, they should replace it too. what should i tell them. Thankfully I took my head unit face plate off when I left the car and my Alpine deck was still in there, but from the looks of it, they searched the whole car to see if I left the face anywhere. ohh and the guy there thinks my problems on my car is because of a bad MAF.
