Top speed...

has anyone actually been 145mph+ in an NA?
I've hit about 140. A little scary to be honest. My car has a JWT filter and that's about it, for power adders.

i hit just over 145.... takes some time once you make it to the 110 mark, it wasnt to scary, till i was slowing down, then i heard this crazy scraping noise.... i was about to pee my pants, pulled off on lemont road (my road home) then at teh bank, took a look at teh car, then realized, the wind from the speed blew teh plastic undercarriage shielding off the front lip where it mounts, it broke it actually, couldnt fix it, had to cut it off.... sigh....

Another Question, I have a loud ringing noise when passing 130, you guys having the same? I don't feel any severe vibrations, just you know, the floaty feeling

I also want to purchase a rear diffuser(Abflug), wing (APR GT-300), and canards(APR). So i can stay on the ground better.
How much will these effect(make slower) my Top speed?

Because I have too... J/K
Naw, it's just that I have a bad habit. And i don't speed like that everyday, but probably too often
And being safer is a plus.

yeah, i got that "floaty feeling" also. that's what makes it scary. felt like the front end was coming up higher than the back end.
I recommend you stop trying to top that top speed. going that fast is extremely dangerous on public roads. you never know when somebody might decide to jump out in front of you and unless you have 2 miles of stopping distance, it's going to end badly.

It will, very badly I had a friend in an IS300 and now I now longer have a friend. He was on am empty road doing (cops estimated) 260 KPH on an empty straight road, a road work crew left a couple sand bags on the edge of the road. He tried to stop but had no hope, flipped like six times. He had brake upgrades and everything.

Yeah... holy **** dont let off the gas all at once, you have to ease off it when you're going that fast.

I never hit 140 in my NA but

I have hit 170 in my TT ( 171) to be exact according to police radar. Didn't really feel "floaty" but for about an hour afterwards....65mph felt like I could get out and walk that fast...

I've done about 140 on my S13. didn't feel floaty at all. it was nice hearing my AC vents whistle and all. ha ha needless to say stoping was not a problem either Z32 30mm brakes + Hawk Pads and Yokohama Advans = good didn;t stay there very long since a big turn was coming up and I had to slow down cause well. first of all Im not going to attempt trying to drift that fast (and possibly die) and drifting is not allowed in that track (at that time [on that race] or class)

154, hitting the rev limiter in the auto in the z32, there is some rear end lift that a diffuser could fix, but its not that scary at all, even turning at 138 wasnt bad.

Hit 154-ish flying down the grapevine at 2am a couple of summers ago. Felt pretty rock solid till I hit the rev limiter, scared the **** out of myself thinking I killed hte engine, and then backed off. It's a pretty flat, 4-lane stretch on a downhill slope so it wasnt hard to start jamming. It didn't feel floaty at all and vibration wasn't too bad.

In retrospect it's probally what killed one of my injectors or at least started it on it's path to the grave.....ah well. It was fun and I haven't had to do it again

buffeting

when low pressure waves move past the top of the car its called buffeting...makes a nasty noise. I beleive the Vector W8 ran into this problem at 230mph that is why they didn't make anymore glass tops after they top ended it. It happens at a lot lower speeds too but its not as violent.

No doubt....I've driven 299 from Redding to Eureka. Lots of places for cops to hide. It can be a fun road to drive in the spring as long the deer stay in the forest.

Funny you mentioned that, i got a ticket going to redding last weekend for a car show. I was going 70 in a 55, but he bumped me down to 65, he was cool, for Highway Patrol. Luckily he hadn't been around 30 seconds earlier, cause i was doing around 95
