We generally see a tire size format as follows
255/40/ZR17. This is a Z series tire; which I believe is ratedsomething like 160+. If it is not directly in the size size coding of the tire, then you should be able to find it stamped on the sidewall. Or, ask the company that you bought it from.

I figure this little disclaimer should be added as well. Driving at these speeds is not safe, not matter which car you have, what tires are on it or how experienced you are behind the wheel, . You are putting yourself, your passenger, and anyone else on the road in jeopardy. The only safe place to do something like this is on the track. As someone said earlier, speed is like a drug.....please use it wisely.

the speedometer that copper showed is probably a Canadian model. I don't know of anywhere else in the world that uses MPH. I think everywhere else uses KPH.

I 2nd what 91 (sorry) said. I can go out from where I live and find a road where I can see for 10+ miles. No cars........ WFO. I've only gotten to 130 because my one out of balance tire starts shaking pretty bad at that speed. No shake at 80.

Anyway, read at the bottom of the following page about the Z rated tires.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...eral/speed.jsp

There's no gaurantee that they'll hold up to 160+

I wasn't sure about that whole 160MPH thing. That's a good link. I know there are a lot of people out there who think a tire is a tire and that's about it. Facts show that's not the case. If you guys are going to make a speed run, make sure you have equipment that can handle it. It's one thing to get your car up to 130MPH. It's another thing to get it under control at that speed while the rear end and front end keep trading places.

What did it idle at before? Nothing you worked on should've changed the idle. Check for vacuum leaks. Maybe you pulled a hose by mistake.

Right now....it doesn't.

Dan's right. If you can get it down to 700-800RPM's, then you should be fine. Don't do it by adjusting the idle screw. That will just mask your problem. Here's a silly question, when it was idling at 1150, was the engine hot or cold? If it was cold, then you're fine. The RPM's will drop after about 5 minutes of run time.

ok yeah the engine was cold the RPMS droped to like 800. but now it seems to be leakign water from teh theremostat and check that out. yet the car seems to run hotter than before it runs like the 180 Spedo. is that normal or hotter than normal? well a little bet less just a little though, a little less than a quarter inch. where should the nedle be @ normal temperature. the t-stat it had before was stuck open. what Im goign to do is take the pipe off again and re clean it with a razor and put more silicone gasket. but it really help out for U guy's to tell me. oh yeah she haul alot stronger with those new belts no more squeaking!!!

Do what now? The temp needle on mine is about in the middle, maybe a little below. Part of that I don't know what you're saying. Please try to slow down a little when you type.

$39.99 walmart............ You might get a "cool" battery for what you wanna spend, but it won't be much if any better.

Don't worry about a fancy battery yet. Get your coolant leaking problem fixed. It may not be your water pump that is leaking. There are 2 bypass hoses that could be leaking also. Did you remove both of those aluminum pipes? If not, then do it and check those hoses. They should be replaced, if you haven't done it already. You'll need the same gasket goop for those water pipes. Your car is running too hot. Mine runs just below half-way. Always has. At the temp that your talking about, the fan would run non-stop. You want to flush your system. Your radiator could have a clog in it also.

What coolant did you use? How much water did you add to the system? It should be distilled water. You should mix a 50/50 ratio of coolant/water.

Stillen Grounding kit: http://www.stillen.com/Sportscars_de...d=36689&page=1

for the electrical, check all your fuses before you take it anywhere. thats probably the problem, and fuses are cheap. unless you have to get a $15 dealer only friggin fuse link

Tranny info....
http://www.ttzd.com/tech/fluidchangetech.html

Grounding net....make your own.
http://www.ttzd.com/tech/groundnettech.html
Don't waste your $ on the ground stabilizer. Not necessary. Just another gimic.

Your lighting problem is likely a fuse. The fuse panel is located down by the dead pedal.

Spend some time on Rizz's sig page. Much of what I have learned about the Z is from reading through the links he has on there.

It's probably not you're battery. It soundsl ike you have a voltage draw; i.e. a short somewhere. Were you able to find a burned out fuse? If so, then that will narrow down your search. What stereo do you have (OEM or aftermarket)? Who installed it? Check the wires behind the head unit. It's pretty cramped back there, so it's easy to pinch a wire and cause a short.
